Beatle – John Lennon – Bronze Sculpture Proposal for New York City
Limited edition solid bronze: 9
Size: 13 inches high.
Mike Santo is a trial attorney in New York City, who initially purchased Laura’s Sculpture portrait bust of John Lennon in 2007. They both discussed the idea of having a enlarged version of the bust for the city. Over the years Mike managed to make some headway with Sid Bernstein’s endorsement but it was back in October 2011 they were talking about it on the phone when Mike suggested the bust be placed on a ‘Peace Sign’ “I couldn’t figure how that would work?” and then it came to me, He would be life size, leaning on the peace sign with the words of his songs cut out around the peace sign. They both felt although the memorial mosaic in Central Park ‘Imagine’ is beautiful and fitting, that the city needed to have more in the form of John Lennon’s portrait in bronze , life-size and his message with the Peace sign showing the words of his songs , ‘Imagine all the people sharing all the world’ ‘Give Peace a Chance’ and ‘All you need is Love’ that inspire many of us to keep the ‘Dream’. This would be for the generations to come to keep alive his message and who he was. We both together came up with something we feel is very special!
